St Giles - Tytherton Kellaways

Tytherton Kellaways is a small hamlet in the parish of Langley Burrell. The current St Giles building dates from 1805. It replaced a chapel attached to Kellaways Mill, which had a continuous register of incumbents dating back to 1304.
Access to the church was improved in 1811/12 with the construction of a causeway across the River Avon and flood plain, thanks to the Trustees of Maud Heath, who have looked after the 4.5 mile footpath from Chippenham to Wick Hill since the original Deed of Gift in 1474.
