Coming Up
Saturday 23 September 9.30am – 1pm - "How to read the Bible without switching off your brain!" at Jenner Hall, Cricklade (by St Sampson’s Church)
As part of our Growing in God series, on Saturday 23rd September from 9.30-1pm we have Revd Dr Simon Taylor coming to speak to us about the bible. Simon is the Director of Mission & Ministry Support in Bristol diocese. Simon’s book ‘How to read the bible without switching off your brain’ is a really helpful book with an intriguing title. During the morning he will tell us the whole story of the bible (in an hour!) and take questions on anything and everything that you want to know about the bible – so do bring a question ready to ask.
Simon has a brain the size of a small planet and reads theology books for fun; he is an engaging and charming teacher. Do come, I think everyone will be enlightened (without switching off their brains!). All are very welcome.
Tuesday 26 September 7.45pm – PCC Meeting – All Saints, Sutton Benger.
Wednesday 27 September 7.30pm – Deanery Synod at St Giles, Lea.
Thursday 28 September 11am – PCC Meeting – St Mary’s, Seagry.

We’d be especially grateful for the following food supplies: tins of tomatoes, potatoes, vegetables, baked beans, fruit & long-life fruit/jelly pots, tinned puddings (e.g. rice) & custard, tins of meat (e.g. corned beef, ham, meat stew) and fish (sardines, pilchards, tuna etc.) Pot Noodles, packet savoury noodles & rice, bags of uncooked rice & pasta, packet soups, and packet instant mash. Jars of cooking sauce (e.g. bolognaise, curry). Tea & Coffee. Packets of breakfast cereal, porridge oats & instant porridge pots. Packets of biscuits, bars and cereal bars. Jars of jam.
